Display of the Year
The OMAs are the premier awards for recognizing the most innovative
and effective in-store and at retail displays that lift sales and make
products memorable and enticing to consumers. Entries vie each year for
gold, silver and bronze honors in 27 industry categories and 3 divisions.
Display of the Year winners are chosen from among the gold winners
in each division of the contest.
The winner for this year’s award in the Permanent Display
division is Xbox 360 Kiosk Program by Design Phase Inc, for Microsoft X
Box. In the Semi-Permanent Display division, the Display of the Year
Award goes to All Out Summer Spectacular by Ellie, Inc. and Frankel for
the Coca-Cola Company. Rand Display won the Display of the Year
award in the Temporary Display division for SudaCare Shower Soothers
Floorstand Powerwing created for Pfizer Consumer HealthCare.

Industry Hall of Fame Induction
With this lifetime achievement
award, we honor the producers and brand marketers who, for at least 25
years, have made a significant contribution to the industry, in his/her
community and observed ethical business practices during his/her
career.
POPAI inducted the founding members of the
WIFAB Group into the Industry Hall of Fame.
Dick Carrigan, Harry Purnell,
Bart Rollins II, Jack Scriba,
Bud Thalenfeld and Bruce Young formed the group in 1972. Over
the years WIFAB evolved from a group of wire vendors into what is today
called, the Permanent Display Manufacturers Forum or PDMF.

The Brand Marketer Chief Award for Merchandising Excellence
and The Retailer Chief Award for Merchandising Excellence
Both the Brand Marketer and
Retailer Chief Awards are presented to companies that demonstrate
effective and innovative use of marketing at-retail in their
overall marketing strategy and adhere to the highest business standards.
In 2003, the Chief Award was split into the Brand Marketer Chief Award
and Retailer Chief Award. Members of POPAI are solicited for their
nominations for this award. POPAI’s Nominating Committee
selects the company that will accept the award during the Night of
Honors at the annual Industry Leadership Conference.
BMW of North American, LLC received the
Chief Award for Merchandise Excellence.
Jack Pitney, Vice President, Marketing accepted the award.

Pat Cloud President’s Award
This prestigious award is
given by POPAI’s President to recognize a substantial contribution
to POPAI while being a long term, active and loyal leader in the
association. This award also recognizes
global achievement in the establishment and maintenance of POPAI’s
International Chapters. Pat Cloud was the founder of Visual Marketing,
Inc. As a former chairman of the board, his
constant support brought POPAI through years of
change.
This year's recipient was Barbara Daugherty of Frito Lay.

President's Award Recipients
Andrea Martin Volunteer of the Year Award
Inaugurated in 1999, this
award is presented to the POPAI volunteer whose significant contribution
and dedication in a particular area has helped the association to grow
and progress. The Volunteer of the Year gets
involved by working on many committees and volunteering their time and
ideas to finding solutions in POPAI. This award is named for Andrea Martin of E. & J. Gallo
Winery. No other volunteer has been more
dedicated or given more of their time to POPAI than Ms.
Martin.
